Bo Diddley is exactly who he was talking about. And I never stopped listening to Bo Diddley. If you want to appreciate how Bo Diddley's music transformed how young people heard music, check out John Cipollina's guitar on "Who Do You Love" and "Mona" from Quicksilver Messenger Service's "Happy Trails" CD. What an album!/5(13).

The "Bo Diddley beat" is essentially the clave rhythm, one of the most common bell patterns found in sub-Saharan African music traditions.
